In recent discussions surrounding proposed Medicaid cuts in Iowa, our organization remains vigilant and committed to monitoring the situation closely. These proposed reductions could significantly impact vulnerable populations who rely on Medicaid for essential health services. Of course, this would affect most of the individuals with autism who we serve across the state.
We understand the potential consequences of such changes, and we are actively advocating for policies that prioritize access to healthcare for all Iowans. By staying informed and engaged, we aim to ensure that the voices of those affected are heard and that necessary support systems remain intact.
What can you do? Consider reaching out to your local representatives to express your concerns about the welfare of individuals with disabilities. Your voice can help highlight the importance of maintaining robust funding for these essential services. A couple of resources set up for easy advocacy efforts include the Iowa DD Council, National Council for Mental Wellbeing and ANCOR.

Morning Movement with Molly: A Jumping Good Time!
We were jumping for joy at our Morning Movement sessions in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo! These safe and supportive classes gave children with autism the perfect space to express themselves through movement—and get their wiggles out!
In Waterloo, we had a hopping good time with an obstacle course, balance beam, parachute play, and mat time to practice our 🐻 bear crawls and 🐸 frog hops. Every jump, step, and stretch was met with smiles and excitement!
Thank you to everyone who joined us—see you next time for more movement fun!
